Los Rakas & D Smoke – “Poquito Más” | (Official Video)

Grammy-nominated Panamanian duo Los Rakas have returned with a new single titled “Poquito Mas” featuring Rhythm + Flow season one winner D Smoke. “Poquito Mas” follows a string of visual releases from the group’s critically acclaimed album Manes de Negocio.

After connecting via social media, Los Rakas and D Smoke set up a session with producer Mars Today. “Poquito Mas” was an instant stand out with its lush percussion and beautiful guitar accents. D Smoke’s ability to easily move in and out English and Spanish is the perfect complement to Los Rakas style. In speaking out the new single, Raka Dun shared, “This collaboration is important for the culture, especially in segregated places like Los Angeles. Showing Black and Latino unity is vital. We’re happy we got to connect with D Smoke. He’s a dope artist bringing something new to the game just like this record. ‘Un Poquito Mas’ is a fresh vibe that’s never been heard before.”

Los Rakas is comprised of cousins Raka Rich and Raka Dun, pioneering Panamanians by way of the Bay Area on the frontier of a new Latin urban sound. Known for their fresh mix of hip-hop, plena, reggae and dancehall music; the Grammy-nominated duo represents the cutting edge of Pan-American flows. Taking their name from the Panamanian word “Rakataka,” a negative slur used to describe someone from the ghetto, Los Rakas have set out to inspire fellow “Rakas” by empowering them to become successful despite their circumstances.

Hailing from Inglewood, California, D Smoke personifies a potent cultural duality: nurtured by the boulevards, and natured by a family’s legacy in Gospel music. A bilingual, African-American musician and storyteller, D Smoke gained global notoriety as the undisputed breakout star of Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow. Smoke showcased himself as a raw lyricist, classically trained musician, and social activist with something to say.
