Gang Starr releases new single titled “BAD NAME” and announces new album.
On September 18th DJ Premier shook the hip-hop community by announcing the release of a new Gang Starr single “Family and Loyalty” featuring J.Cole; and the song did not disappoint! Yesterday, DJ Premier shook up the world again by announcing the release of the new Gang Starr single “BAD NAME”.
Just like his original announcement DJ Premier announced the release via social media saying:
“MIDNIGHT… @GangStarr … #GangStarr” with an audio clip promoting the single.
However the surprises did not stop there as Preemo announced that on November 1st the new Gang Starr album “One of the Best Yet” will be released. Along with the announcement came an album cover and track-listing!

Early this month the video for “Family and Loyalty” was released, this was the first Gang Starr video ever filmed without Guru in physical form. Guru passed away from cancer on April 19, 2010, at the age of 48.
About “Family and Loyalty”, DJ Premier commented “We have so much unused footage together (Guru and Premier), and with Guru’s lyrics I visualized him in the video as a picture book, a photo album that would capture our journey.”
