Bodega Bamz releases his his highly anticipated sophomore studio album, P.A.P.I. (Proud and Powerful Individualz).

Coming off the heels of his acting debut in the Showtime original series SMILF, P.A.P.I., is a project that has been years in the making and stands as the rapper’s most personal work to date, chronicling the growing pains that the Tanboys leader has endured since the release of his last solo effort, 2016’s All Eyez Off Me. In this long-awaited album, the Spanish Harlem ambassador is rhyming with a renewed purpose on what can be considered a career-defining effort.
“Praying,” the lead single from P.A.P.I., finds Bamz in a reflective state and giving a confessional over rollicking percussion and guitar riffs. The albums follow-up single, “Clout,” is a song playfully mocking what’s perceived as success in today’s landscape of rap.
Bodega Bamz gave his fans some insight on the album and cover on a post near midnight. He wrote:
“That’s my pops on the cover. He came to New York illegally from Dominican Republic for 1 thing. The American Dream. I know a lot of ya can relate. That’s why I represent who i am so hard. No regrets. I’ve been ruffling feathers since my name was first herd. As long as I have the truth as long as I can teach & inspire & influence. Ima keep pushing.”
