NEW MUSIC: SERUM & MANIFESTO - THE S&M PROJECT: HOTT WAXX (ALBUM)

 >> 305 Music Posted 12/8/2011 by crazyhood.

Here's what Seums & Manifesto's camp had to say at press time: Miami emcees Serum & Manifesto drop their collabo album today FOR FREE, "The S&M Project: Hott Waxx" on TyrannoSerumRecords. Album is 17 tracks of boom bappery featuring some of Miami's dopest emcees such as LMS, Saheed, Chris Black and more. Production credits include Stijn Beats (of The Netherlands), Stereo Phlyer, Ozny, Anno Domini (UK), etc. Serum & Manifesto first starting making buzz on the nationwide college radio airwaves last year with their debut single from this album entitled "The Blade Rack" ft. Self and Solo (which actually went #1 on Miami Legendary Dj Magic Mike's radio show in Orlando). You'll here all kinds of tracks on this project from Socio-politcal bangers like "Seprent Persecution" ft LMS, to Miami anthems with a twist like their 2nd college radio hit from last year "Manic City". Real hip-hop is alive and well in Miami, this album will remind you. Take a look, would love if you'd be down to feature it. Oh yea, this album is free for the rest of the year then it will go up on iTunes, Amazon, Undergroundhiphop.com, etc. Let em know to get it for free while they can.

You can download the project HERE.

¡MAYDAY! - STUCK ON AN ISLAND (ALBUM IN STORES NOW!)

 >> ¡MAYDAY! Posted 10/12/2010 by crazyhood.
The wait is over! ¡Mayday!'s long awaited second LP "Stuck On An Island" is now available!! Not only can you buy the physical album or the digital download, you can also buy packages that include coming to Miami and hanging with the band. There a couple different choices in packages so act fast by going to Maydayonline.com and seeing all your options! If your wondering what to expect from SOAI just read Urb Magazines official review of the album. The popular music culture magazine gave "Stuck On An Island" four out of five stars. Here's what Urb Magazine had to say:

When listeners first met ¡MAYDAY!, their sound was predominately hip-hop. Over the years, however, they have allowed their timbre to evolve, sharing stages with Daft Punk and collaborating with musical gems ranging from the brilliantly odd ballish Devin the Dude to the far-out Cee-Lo. Their video for “Groundhog Day,” which featured the Gnarls Barkley half, premiered on YouTube in 2007, breaking two million views in less than two days and receiving hefty recognition from major media figures including the New York Times. Packaging both their success and growth into a brand new album, ¡MAYDAY! returns with Stuck on an Island, an artistic reflection of how the happenings of the past few years have shaped them into who they are now and where they ultimately plan to be.

Straddling the bar of hip-hop and a more alternative appeal, the album opens up with “I’ll Be Gone,” a funky, futuristic number on the grounds of Mark Ronson and K-OS. Venturing far, far away from their previous work, its deep, rattling bass line shakes, rattles and rolls as melodic vocals glide into Travie McCoy-esque rap and piano chords rage in the background. Songs like “Lost Highway” take on a darker persona with an ominous and murky boom, while “Transparent,” sounding like something produced underwater, possesses a muffled, smothered quality of resonance. A few more songs in, and we’ve reached “On 2 Someth’n,” which keeps the infectious ball rolling with the adornment of sassy female vocalist, Jovi Rockwell. With its punchy beats and contagious melodies, this 19-track compilation makes it difficult to sit still.

Following an obviously more eclectic and eccentric path, the album finds the group experimenting with a more untried sound, producing an album of urban music with a little more electro and pop/rock than there is boom-bap. The reason? As quoted by website Music Remedy, producer/guitarist Plex Luthor stated that Stuck on an Island displays ¡MAYDAY!’s intentions “to make sure the world knows musicians from this city can compete culturally with the best of them.” Was their goal met? After one rotation, it’s appealingly undeniable to the ears that it was.

TONEDEFF - DEFFINITIONS VOL.2

 >> 305 Music Posted 7/23/2010 by crazyhood.

Many of you might be confused by the "305 Music" category in which I labeled this post, well let me explain. Many moons ago, the homie Tonedeff and myself were schoolmates at the prestigious (not really) Sunset Senior High (those were the days!) in the Kendall area of Miami Florida (where I still reside). Being that Tonedeff moved out of Miami a long time ago, I am almost sure he doesn't consider himself a Miami artist and rightfully so (he shouldn't be a F.O.T. to NY). Either way Miami should be proud of this talented MC/Producer which started his career down south! Don't let me bring up the Arsenio Hall show!! lol

Enough "back in the days" shit and make sure you grab Tonedeffs new project, which is available on Itunes or Bandcamp (stream) now! Here's what his camp had to say at press time: For those of you who missed out on Vol.1, the Deffinitions series consists of instrumentals pulled from Tonedeff’s sprawling production discography. From the obscure, to the rare, to the recently released, these (majority) never-before-released instrumentals once again present the full-range of one of the most underrated MC/Producers in Hip Hop. Continuing the prior release’s format, this collection also include a BRAND NEW bonus instrumental for good measure. And the beat goes on.

RAS KASS & DJ RHETTMATIC - A.D.I.D.A.S. (ALBUM)

 >> Crazy Blogs Posted 7/23/2010 by crazyhood.

The time has come and Ras Kass much talked about A.D.I.D.A.S. project has finally arrived. The homie Ras Kass and DJ Rhettmatic have put together a solid album chalk full of special guests. What makes this release that much more special to myself (and ya'll Miami Hip Hop watchers) is its featuring of production from our very own Hazardis Soundz on the "In My Lane" track and vocal feature by Wrekonize (of ¡Mayday!) on "Dexter". Head over to Ras Kass's bandcamp page where you can stream or download the album now!

GARCIA - SHATTERED DREAMS (FREE ALBUM DOWNLOAD)

 >> Crazyhood Posted 5/7/2010 by crazyhood.

Miami's 'Underground King' Garcia is back for the free release of his third album Shattered Dreams, an album that purposely takes Garcia back to his Miami hip-hop roots of beats and rhymes. After the critical acclaim of his 2008 sophomore album Life Unscripted (which was executive produced by N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN and featured guest production by Midi Mafia, Reef, Diaz Brothers, DJ Honda, Omega One, Dani Kartel, Scram Jones, and more), Garcia and longtime producer-friend Nick Fury went back to the lab and decided to record an album that was strictly 'in the moment' - free from thinking about radio, trends, blogs, etc. Consider Shattered Dreams a therapy session that we can all relate to.

Shattered Dreams - Executive produced by DJ EFN and Co-executive produced by Nick Fury. Productions by Nick Fury HD with additional production by Hazardis Soundz, Big Drain and featuring Bern Biz (of ¡MAYDAY!) and Garcia's cousin (which both of them make the group The Dysfunct) Adrianne (Of The Rescues). Hit the jump for track listing and download link!
